Weekend of Jazz with the National Youth Jazz Collective

This weekend was all about Jazz at SWMS.
First up, our vocal students had a blast with the incredible Pete Churchill. Thanks to the National Youth Jazz Collective, Pete delivered an inspirational vocal workshop with a cross section of students from across the Core and Songwriter programmes.

On Sunday our Foundation students were lucky to have Issie Barratt (Artistic Director of the NYJC) work on their rhythm and improv ensemble skills. We had Guitars, Drums, Cellos, Violins, Clarinet and Pianos discovering ways of working together without sheet music to play Jazz rhythms.
