Preston Prince

Preston Prince is originally from New Zealand, but is now residing in Ashburton, Devon.

Preston has been involved in music education now for over 20 years. He is the Lead Drum tutor at BIMM, Brighton, the largest provider of higher and further education in the UK, where he has been involved in helping young musicians realise their potential.

Preston has had students go on to be in some of the hardest working bands in the country, such as “The Two Door Cinema Club”, “Vels Trio” and “Fickle Friends” to name a few.

He has performed with some fantastic artists himself, including James Hunter, Viola Wills, Bap Kennedy, Camille O’Sullivan, Astrid Williamson, Gordan Russell (Dr Feelgood), Steve Thompson, Abi Flynn, and Tim Wells. Preston still continues to perform and help others who aspire to be the best they can within their chosen field.

Preston is so pleased to be involved with the South West Music School’s mentoring scheme and thrives on sharing his knowledge and experience with a new generation of young musicians.
