“I am in my first year of undergraduate studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire studying classical Double Bass Performance.
As of February 2022, I have taken part in many workshop sessions (including learning about Gamelan, Samba, Klesmer, etc) and performance classes, as well as performing in the Conservatoire’s Christmas Concerts.

My current teacher is Tony Alcock, who has aided greatly in my progress as a double bassist in his focused and enjoyable approach to learning.
I found learning under SWMS to be a great experience. Of particular interest were the mentor sessions, where I was able to discuss a different topic each week as well as the composition sessions (which were a joy to attend as feedback was detailed and valuable).”
