October Composer Residential 2011
The first residential of the 2011/12 learning year was held in the sunny hills of Swanage and was run by composers David Horne and Thomas Kemp. The residential was focussed around composing for a string quartet who were in residence and able to workshop the pieces as they were being created. The composers learnt a great amount about the various instruments and how they work together to create a fantastic number of sounds. It was also a great opportunity to begin the journey with South West Music School for collating tips and ideas for developing future compositions. An incredibly successful performance was held at the end of the weekend and promised great things for the year ahead.
