July Residential 2011
The final residential of the learning year was working with Wren Music Trust looking at the roots of Folk Music. The students looked at ‘traditional’ folk music brought by Wren as well as researching into the musical roots of their own communities and families. They got involved with all aspects of folk music from a cappella song to instrumental reels and traditional dancing to guerrilla performances in the centre of Truro!
The students were also given the opportunity to learn traditional folk instruments and use these in their final performance.
Some of the videos from this residential can be found on the look & listen page on the website.
