Vicki Barnes-Moffatt

Gloucestershire born, Vicki Barnes Moffatt is a highly experienced musician and performer; she regularly appears on platforms in the county and beyond as soloist, ensemble member and director and accompanist. A teacher of some 25 years, Vicki engages children and adults in piano and vocal lessons; taking learners from their formative steps on the instrument to attaining their diploma levels with both ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall; many of Vicki’s former pupils now attend various music colleges throughout the UK. As a singer in her own right, Vicki has performed all the major works as a soloist, from Handel’s Messiah through Mozart, to works by Puccini, Gershwin, Britten and Lloyd Webber.

As an experienced choral director and manager, Vicki co-led Voices of Youth, the county youth choir for Gloucestershire, Tewkesbury Chamber Choir and the choir of St Lawrence at Barnwood, Gloucester. Her involvement with Rednock School, Dursley has seen the school choir grow in strength year on year and in Summer 2010 the school choir made its debut tour to Croatia and in  the Autumn 2010 the choir will undertake a tour to Poland.

 Through her involvement with the Choir Schools Association, Gloucester Cathedral and Gloucestershire Music, Vicki co-developed and has co-lead since, the Cathedral Outreach Programme, which involves working with schools in a vocal workshop capacity. As an extension of this project, which has since been taken on board by Sing Up!, Vicki directs and co-runs Gloucestershire’s County Junior Choir, which meets weekly, performs music from a  wide repertoire and performs throughout the country; the choir has given numerous premier performances in its 7 years, primarily at Gloucester Cathedral and Cheltenham Town Hall.
