Rosanna Ter-berg
Rosanna Ter-Berg is a Leverhulme scholarship student studying with Anna Noakes for her MMus degree at Trinity College of Music. In February alone, Rosanna was the winner of three prestigious music competitions: First Prize at the Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra Young Soloist Competition – winning a concerto performance with the orchestra, The Harold Clarke Woodwind Competition, and she was the recipient of the top prize awarded at the British Flute Society (BFS) Young Artists Competition. She has been invited to play a prizewinner’s recital at the BFS convention in the summer 2010 at the RNCM.
Prior to coming to Trinity, Rosanna was at the University of Leeds, learning with Linda Verrier at the Royal Northern College of Music. She graduated with a 1st Class BMus degree and her dissertation was published on the University Portal by the music school. At Leeds, Rosanna was the principal flautist with all the orchestras at the university and she appeared as a concerto soloist at Leeds Town Hall with the Symphony Orchestra. Her third year at of her degree was spent studying at Strasbourg Conservatoire, France.
Rosanna has also received scholarships to attend various different summer schools including ‘The Oxford Summer School’ with Michael Cox, and the international klezmer course ‘Klezfest’ she has also played in numerous master classes with guidance from some the top flautists worldwide.
Alongside performing, Rosanna enjoys education projects. In 2009, she assisted on a project led by BBC composer Mark Bowden, lasting over a month and included 4 schools. She is also involved in ‘Tune In’ - the Government’s National Year of Music, Trinity Guildhall, The Open University and Radiowaves are running a year-long programme to celebrate children’s achievements through wider opportunities programmes. The project will culminate in a national celebration event on June 30 2010 at the Nottingham Trent FM Arena.
Additionally, in her final year at Leeds, Rosanna raised over £3,000 for the children’s charity ‘Childreach International’, by climbing to the Base Camp of Mount Everest.
