Penny Tweed
Following her studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Penny joined the Orchestra of the Sadler’s Wells Royal Ballet. She spent a year in Dublin as a member of the National Symphony Orchestra before joining the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in 1991. She leads the BSO Mini Strings - a group of five string players from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra - which goes into schools to give concerts and workshops. Penny’s interest in teaching led to her completing a Master of Arts course in Music Education in 1999 and a PGCE in Secondary Music in 2006. She has been a mentor for the South West Music School since 2007.
