Jason Bowld
International headline tours with Pitchshifter and varied studio sessions have helped shape Jason Bowld into one of the most popular, versatile drummers to come out of the U. K.
Known for his dynamic drumming with U.K. rockers Pitchshifter over the last 10 years, Jason Bowld is a man of many talents. He has written, performed and produced his critically acclaimed side-project band - This is Menace, which features over 19 guest vocalists from bands such as Killing Joke, Hundred Reasons, Funeral for a Friend and Fightstar - Jason filled in for Fightstar on their 5 week U.K. tour in October '08 at short notice, learning their entire set in a morning.
He has also proven himself in other genres of music with his versatile style. His playing with EMF guitarist Ian Dench for cult singer Amanda Ghost earned him respect from U2 and Depeche Mode producers Dave McCracken and Steve Fitzmaurice. Personal requests from Sony BMG to record for up and coming bands has reinforced Jason's efficiency in the studio, where has been known to record drum parts for albums within three days. This positive work ethic is further echoed by other international producers that Jason has worked with such as Machine, Ulrich Wilde, Al Clay and Andy Sneap.
Jason has had a very busy 2010 so far which includes working with London based rock band Slaves to Gravity and he has also managed to squeeze in other projects and sessions in between.
They fell from the sky was a one-off album he wrote with Hundred Reasons singer Colin Doran and producer/ guitarist Dave Draper.
False Flags has an electro/ rock sound to it and is a collaboration with FIghstar members Dan Haigh and Alex Westway. Recently, Jason has recorded at ICP studios in Belgium and PLUS 30 studios in Paris for solo artist Ben Talbot. Towards the end of this year, Jason will finally commence recording for a new Pitchshifter album.
At present he is on tour with Slaves to Gravity supporting Lacuna Coil and will then support Alterbridge
On the drum clinic front, Jason Has taught at UDE in London this summer and performed drum clinics and masterclasses in Portsmouth, Worcester, Brighton, Durham university and Essex and on the eductational front futher, he has a new column in Rhythm magazine on double-kick drumming.
Other instruments and skills include guitar, programming, sequencing, percussion and backing vocals.
Jason has bases in London and the Midlands.
