Berry Goddard

Berry has been playing the sax since 1989 and started teaching in 2000 at the Blowout Saxophone School in Bath, where she still teaches. She is a qualified instrumental teacher and was awarded a certificate of teaching from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in 2003.

She has taught sax, flute and clarinet at numerous local primary and secondary schools through working with BANES music service, independent schools and teaching privately. She is the jazz sax, clarinet and flute tutor for music performance students at Bath Spa University.

As a performer Berry has been playing in the SW, especially Bath and Bristol for over 10 years. She specialises in jazz and has played countless gigs in the region with her jazz quartet and as a session musician. She has played in a number of shows including West Side Story, 42nd Street, Guys n Dolls, Oklahoma and Mack n Mabel, in venues including the Theatre Royal Bath, the Victoria Rooms in Bristol and Frome Memorial Theatre. She also enjoys playing 1st tenor in the Gorgeous Big Horns Big Band and has been lucky enough to perform alongside the likes of Pee Wee Ellis, Dave O’Higgins, Mike Mower, Iain Ballamy and Jason Rebello.
