Andrew Tween
After completing the postgraduate course in Jazz studies at the Guildhall School of Music Andrew went to live and work in Monte Carlo playing drum kit in a resident big band performing in shows and supporting touring artists in the Sporting Club and Salle des Jeux.
Over the past five years he’s played on two European tours with Pee Wee Ellis (James Brown’s saxophonist and musical arranger) and Fred Wesley. He has also worked with such artist as Dave Newton (Stacey Kent), Dave Green, Tony Remy (Annie Lennox) Cameron Pierre (Courtney Pine) John Law and Pete King. In 2007 joined Andrew joined with Mercury Folk Award winner Seth Lakeman playing both Drum-kit and Cajon and continues to tour and record with him in 2008. The band has been shortlisted for ‘Best Live Act’ as part of the Radio 2 Folk Awards 2008.
Andrew has written scores for three documentaries for the Discovery Channel as well as musical clips for both the BBCs Sport and Comic Relief. Recent compositions have included four pieces published in the new Trinity Guildhall Drum grade syllabus.
